Adult Travel Club Summer Trip

The department’s Adult Travel Club for folks 55 and up is now accepting reservations for the June 19, 2012 trip to Auburn, Cayuga County. The deluxe Koning Day Tours motorcoach will depart Mertensia Park on Mertensia Road at 8 a.m. and return at 6 p.m.

The cost of the trip is $75 for town of Farmington residents and $99 for all others. The price difference is because part of the funding is being offset by the town.

The price includes a self-guided tour of the Ward W. O’Hara Agricultural Museum that showcases farm and household implements that revolutionized the American way of life. It also includes a family-style lynch at Lasca’s Restaurant in Auburn and a matinee of Cole Porter’s award-winning musical Kiss Me Kate.

The matinee will be presented at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse. Kiss Me Kate is a love story that features the songs “Another Op’nin,” “Another Show,” “Too Darn Hot,” and “So in love.”

All gratuities for the restaurant waitstaff, motorcoach driver and tour director are included in the cost of the trip.

Attendees may arrive early as the Lodge at Mertensia Park will be open at 7 a.m. and coffee and doughnuts will be served. The lodge is heated and has restrooms.

The deadline for payment and reservations is May 24. Farmington residents may register for the trip now, while out-of-town residents cannot make their reservation until April 30. To reserve a spot contact the Town Clerk’s Office at (315) 986-8100 or visit 1000 County Road 8 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
